Red Mercury Custom
Red is my slide guitar for open G tuning. I’ve used resonators but have had trouble with their feedback at high volumes. I approached Saul Koll with this design and he nailed the guitar. I kept the chrome curb appeal of the resonator by embedding a 1956 Mercury hubcap in the guitar. It definitely adds a metallic tone along with the single TV Jones TV-HT1 Pickup. There is also a 1944 Mercury dime embedded in the headstock. The body is made out of super light wood and the neck is Mohogany with an ebony fretboard.
